Privacy Statement
Effective date: July 3, 2026
This website is operated for H. Jonas Rhynedahll. This statement explains what information may be collected when you use the site, how it may be used, and how to ask questions or make a privacy-related request.
Information you choose to provide. Information submitted through the contact form may include your name, email address, and message. It is used to review and respond to the inquiry.
Comments. When comments are enabled and you leave one, WordPress may collect the information shown in the comment form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user-agent string to help detect spam. Comment cookies may remember the name, email address, and website entered in the form. An anonymized string created from an email address may be provided to the Gravatar service if that service is active.
Reader-response voting. Some sample chapters allow a thumbs-up or thumbs-down response. The site stores aggregate vote totals and places a device cookie recording the response for one year so that the same browser does not vote repeatedly on that page. The voting feature does not ask for a name or email address.
Newsletter subscriptions and email. Newsletter forms may collect a name, email address, signup time, and the IP address used during signup. MailPoet may process newsletter subscriptions and send email for this site. If engagement tracking is enabled, MailPoet may record opens and link clicks so newsletter content can be evaluated and improved. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe method.
Direct purchases. The Buy Direct page links to outside checkout and fulfillment services. Payhip may process storefront checkout and order records. PayPal may process payment. If a separate fulfillment service is later used for EPUB or print delivery, that service receives the information needed to complete the transaction, deliver the book, handle payment, provide receipts, manage taxes where applicable, prevent fraud, and provide customer support.
Cookies and similar technologies. WordPress, MailPoet, security tools, forms, comment features, reader voting, direct-purchase links, and other site functions may use cookies or similar storage for operation, preferences, abuse prevention, subscription status, checkout handoff, or engagement measurement. Available consent controls may be used to manage optional cookies where required.
Technical information collected automatically. The site, hosting provider, and security services may record browser type, device type, IP address, referral source, requested pages, timestamps, and basic server-log information for operation, security, troubleshooting, performance, and routine administration.
How information is used. Information may be used to operate the website, deliver requested email, respond to messages, display and moderate comments, count reader responses, prevent abuse, maintain security, improve performance, and comply with legal obligations.
Service providers. Information may be processed by providers involved in hosting, WordPress plugins, form delivery, email delivery, analytics, spam prevention, and security, but only as needed to provide those services. Personal information is not sold.
Data retention. Contact submissions, related emails, comments, subscription records, aggregate vote counts, security records, and routine logs may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary for correspondence, delivery of requested services, administration, abuse prevention, security, recordkeeping, or legal purposes.
Your choices and rights. You may choose not to submit a form, comment, vote, or subscribe. Newsletter subscribers may unsubscribe through a link in any newsletter. Depending on where you live, you may have rights relating to access, correction, deletion, or limitation of personal information. Use the Contact page for a privacy-related request.
Children’s privacy. This site is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children under the age required by applicable law without appropriate consent.
Changes to this statement. This statement may be updated as the website and its services change. The revised version will be posted here with a new effective date.
