In a world where magickers are stuck with whatever fixed spells fate (in the form of the person of Magic herself) hands them, Everett has learned to expect very little from life beyond hard work, small humiliations, missed meals, and inadequite payment in surplus farm produce. Then he manifests an impossible new spell — Beautiful Woman, come forth! — and his quiet, disappointing, and solitary life turns into something far more inconvenient.

Inconvenient Magic is a comic fantasy series of unruly powers, embodied forces, broken spells, family chaos, ancient dangers, Everett de Schaell, Rose, and a reluctant hero who keeps getting dragged into disasters that grow larger, weirder, and harder to escape. What begins with one magical accident widens into an odyssey shaped by Magic, Destiny, and Technology themselves — each with plans of their own, and none of them particularly interested in what Everett wants.
